I just saw a commercial for a corset-type thing for women to put around their waist...and it's supposed to, I quote: "give women that perfect hourglass figure".
It proceeded to show how it compresses the waist and makes you look like a Barbie doll, which is apparently the "perfect" body.
Seriously, it looked extremely painful and unnatural. And the worst part, they showed beautiful women with their natural bodies in the "before" pictures, as if implying that they needed to change.
It wasn't a joke ad.
I was waiting for a punchline that never happened.
Huh.
Sorry that no woman actually has the perfect body and you had to spend your precious time FIXING that for us. Whoever the fuck made this thing, thank you for telling women everywhere that their bodies aren't perfect, that they should change them. Because we aren't fucking told that every time we turn on the tv. Really, thank you for enlightening us. I'm sure every girl is going to pick up the phone and order a product that suffocates and crushes their organs just to look "perfect".
I know it's just a stupid ad, but...what fucking century are we in again?

Because fuck inner beauty, that's why! Anime Emoji (Yaay)  /end sarcasm

(seriously why do they always use women who look perfectly fine, even drop-dead-gorgeous at times, for these kind of commercials...?)
